Create Products

Products are what parents order for a photo: a print, a digital file, a mug. You create them once in the catalogue and enable them per photo job.

1

The product catalogue

Under Products lies your whole catalogue. The order here is the order in the shop, changeable by drag & drop.

  1. 1Load template: take ready-made products from the Pixalo catalogue.
  2. 2Create a new product from scratch.
  3. 3Search by name or description.
  4. 4Table: type, variants, price range. Handle on the left to sort, pencil and bin on the right.

Quick start with templates

Twelve ready templates with sizes and price suggestions: standard prints, digital file, sticker set, canvas, mug, poster, keychain, T-shirt, hoodie, framed print. Choose a template, adjust prices, save.

Delete with protection

If a product is assigned to an event, deleting asks for confirmation. Products already ordered stay in the orders.

2

The three product types

The type defines what the customer gets and how delivery works.

Print

Physical print in one size. No download. Shipped or collected. Size is required, e.g. 10×15, 13×18, 15×20, 20×30 cm.

Digital file

Download after purchase. The customer receives the original in full resolution without watermark. Customer account required.

Photo gift

Mug, canvas, T-shirt, frame. With mockup preview in the shop and attributes like colour or size.

3

Create a product: print

The form has the same structure for all types. Here with a print in four sizes from the template.

Product form print with name, type, variants, order limit and shop preview
  1. 1Product name and description as they appear in the shop.
  2. 2Product type. Cannot be changed later.
  3. 3Variants: one row per size with its own price.
  4. 4Order limit per access code.
  5. 5Shop preview: how the customer sees the product.

Variants

Name, article number, price, old price, size. The star marks the default variant preselected in the shop. The size quick pick offers 9×13 to 20×30 cm.

Article number

Leave empty and Pixalo assigns ART-00001, ART-00002 and so on. Own numbers are allowed: A to Z, digits, dot, dash, slash. The number goes into the lab export.

Attributes and combinations

For products with colour and size: create attributes, “Generate combinations” creates all variants at once. Presets for T-shirt, mug and print prefill the attributes.

Multi prints and stickers

Switchable per variant. Rows, columns and repeats define how often the photo appears on one sheet. The photo is aligned automatically.

Order limit per access code

Limits how often a product can be ordered per access code across all orders. Typical for free products: 1 per child.

Free products

Price 0 € is allowed. The form asks once and recommends an order limit so nobody orders without end.

4

Digital file

Digital products have no size. One variant is usually enough, e.g. “Digital file (JPEG)”.

Delivery

Online payment: download right after payment. Bank transfer: download as soon as you set the order to Completed. The download link is valid for the period set in the photo settings, counted from the order, default 7 days.

Which file

Always the uploaded original, full resolution, without watermark. A web resolution as a cheaper option can be created as its own product.

All photos at once

The customer also downloads the digital photos of an order as ZIP. A package “All digital photos” sells the whole gallery with one click, see Packages.

5

Photo gift with mockup

Photo gifts show the customer their photo on the product. The mockup editor does this.

Mockup editor

14 templates: frames in four colours, mugs, T-shirts, hoodies, keychain. Or upload your own base image. Drag, scale and rotate the print area, show grid and guides.

Attributes

Create colour, size or material as attributes and generate variants. Each variant gets a price and article number.

6

Assign products to an event

The catalogue is global. Which products appear in a gallery you decide per photo job via “Products & Packages” in the event header.

Dialog Manage products with available and active event products
1
On the event detail page open “Products & Packages” and choose “Manage products”.
2
Available products on the left, active on the right. Individually or “Select all”.
3
“Add”. The products are visible in this job's gallery immediately.

No products, no orders

An active event without products shows an empty gallery. The event header warns with a yellow dot, activation asks first.

7

How the customer sees it

In the gallery a click on a photo opens the product selection. Tabs separate digital files, prints, gifts and bundles.

Switch on in the event

On the “Group photos” card in the event, click the “Print only” chip and confirm. The default for new events lives under Settings › Photos.

What the customer sees

Group and class photos show prints and gifts only. Digital files and packages containing a file are missing, a note explains why. In the gallery the photo carries the label “Print only”.

Packages

Complete packages exclude group photos. In the photo picker, group photos are locked. Package prices do not change.

Existing events

The default applies to new events only. Running events you switch yourself. The server checks every order, even if the cart is older.

Packages combine products with a price advantage and sell best.
