Custom Domain
Instead of name.pixalo.shop your shop runs at www.your-studio.com. You need no Cloudflare account and no domain transfer. Two DNS records at your provider are enough, Pixalo issues and renews the SSL certificate.
Add a domain
Under Settings → Domains enter your domain without https:// and click Add.
- 1Enter the domain, e.g. www.fotostudio-lichtblick.de.
- 2Add. Afterwards Pixalo shows the DNS records for your domain.
www is the main address
Set DNS records
At your domain provider, whichever it is: GoDaddy, IONOS, Strato, Hetzner, Namecheap, Cloudflare. The wizard shows exactly these records with your personal verification code.

TXT record
Proves that the domain belongs to you. Name _pixalo-verify, content the code from the wizard. Copy with one click.
CNAME record
Points www to Pixalo. Target always custom.pixalo.shop. No A record, no IP address.
Cloudflare customers: proxy off
If your domain is at Cloudflare, the cloud must be grey (DNS only). With an orange cloud Pixalo cannot issue a certificate. Other providers do not have this option.
Waiting time
5 to 10 minutes at Cloudflare, up to 48 hours at other providers. Usually under an hour.
Verification and SSL
Pixalo checks the records in the background every few minutes. The status moves through four steps.
Check status
If you do not want to wait: “Check status” starts the check immediately. If it fails repeatedly, Pixalo shows which record is missing and when the next attempt runs.
Primary domain and several domains
You can connect several domains. One is the primary domain.
Primary domain
The star “Set as primary domain” defines which address appears in emails, on QR cards and invoices. The first active domain becomes primary automatically.
The pixalo.shop address stays
name.pixalo.shop keeps working. Old cards and links go nowhere if you delete a domain whose address was printed. Deleting warns about it and requires the domain name.
For your customers
Parents see only your domain. The certificate is valid, the browser shows the lock. Access code emails and gallery links use the primary domain.
