The shop from the parents' side
This page shows step by step what parents experience in your shop. So you can answer questions on the phone with confidence and know what your settings do.
At a glance
- Parents only need the access code. An account is only required for digital photos.
- Siblings can be combined in one session: one cart, one shipment.
- Parents download digital photos in their customer account, for as long as you set.
On the home page of your shop, parents type the code from the card. Pixalo checks it straight away and, for safety, shows only the child's initials.
- 1Enter code: the eye makes the code visible.
- 2Do you have another access code? only appears if you allow sibling codes.
- QR code: the code on the card opens the gallery directly, no typing.
- Gallery email: it contains the access code and the link to the shop.
- Customer account: signing in does not open a gallery. The account is for orders, invoices and downloads.
Signed out after 15 minutes idle
If you allowed several access codes in the settings, parents add the codes of siblings. All photos then appear in one gallery.
- 1Another access code: up to four more codes, so five in total.
- 2Note: codes from the same gallery share one cart and one shipment.
- Only codes from the same gallery can be combined. A gallery code for all photos cannot be combined with child codes.
- Each child gets a name chip in the gallery. Packages such as All Digital Photos apply per child.
- If the feature is off, a new code replaces the session and empties the cart.
At the top are the job, the institution, the date and the number of photos. With a child code, parents see their child's portraits and the group photos of the child's group.
Photo protection
Previews are at most 1200 px and watermarked. On a computer, copy protection blocks right-click and screenshot keys. On a phone, the large view can show only one half of the photo at a time.
Favorites
The heart remembers a photo on this device. On the favorites page, parents order one product for many photos at once.
Group photos
If group photos as prints only is on, they carry the label Print only. Files and packages with files are not offered for them.
Clicking a photo opens it large. On the right are all products of the job, sorted into tabs: All, Digital image files, Prints, Photo gifts and Savings packages.

Order limit
In the Customize package contents window, each product of the package is on the left and the child's photos are on the right.
- Each copy has its own place, such as Print 1 of 2. A click on a photo on the right fills the selected place.
- All places start with the photo that was open. If parents change nothing, every copy gets the same photo.
- Here too, parents can choose the crop per print.
If you allow it, parents choose for prints which part is printed. The frame always has the aspect ratio of the format, such as 10×15.

After payment, Pixalo creates the cropped file from the original. It is in the order and in the lab export. You find the setting under Website theme › Photo page.
In the cart, parents check everything, change quantities or photos and go to checkout.
- Add discount code: the shop checks job, minimum value, period and uses. See Discount codes.
- Free shipping: a bar shows how much is still missing.
- Sitting fee: it appears if you set one. Once per customer means: whoever has already paid does not pay it again.
In checkout, parents enter name, email and address and choose the payment method.
- Digital photos: a customer account is required. Parents create it in checkout and confirm their email with a code.
- Delivery: to their home or collected at the school, if the job and your lab offer it.
- Payment method: the methods you activated under Payments, in your order.
- 0: free orders need no payment.
After ordering
Under My account parents find overview, orders, invoices and settings.
- Downloads: in the order, one by one with a click or all as a ZIP file. When the ZIP is ready, an email arrives.
- Shipping: if the order is on its way, the account shows carrier and tracking number with a link.
- Invoices: every invoice as a PDF.
Download period
Frequently asked questions
A parent says the code does not work. What do I check?
Whether the code was typed correctly and whether the gallery is open. If it is closed or not released yet, the shop shows a note instead of the photos.
Why is the cart suddenly empty?
After 15 minutes without activity the shop signs out and empties it. A different code without the sibling feature empties it as well.
Can parents switch the language?
No. The shop appears in your shop language. You set it under Settings.
How do parents get their files?
In the customer account, in the order. After PayPal or Stripe right away, after bank transfer as soon as you complete the order.
What happens when the gallery closes?
Parents can no longer order. Purchased downloads stay in the customer account while the download period runs.
