All images that do not come from a photo job: logo, product images, shop backgrounds and images for cards. Upload once. Use everywhere.

At a glance

  • JPG, PNG and WebP up to 10 MB per file.
  • Every image shows where it is used. So you never delete something the shop still needs.
  • Photos from picture day do not belong here. You upload them in the job.

The library

Under Media you see all images as a grid or list. Search finds files by name.

  1. 1Upload media: select files or drag them into the area.
  2. 2Search: by file name. A good name saves time later.
  3. 3View: grid or list with type, size and date.

Formats and size

JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB per file. For logos, PNG with a transparent background works best.

Several at once

The box at the top left of an image selects it. You delete several selected files in one go.

Details of a file

A click on an image opens the Media Details on the right.

  1. 1Information: file name, file type, file size, dimensions and date.
  2. 2Alternative text: a short description of the image. Save metadata stores it.
  3. 3Permanently delete file: removes the file from storage.

Why alt text matters

Search engines and people using a screen reader read it instead of the image. One sentence is enough. Below, Used in shows where the image is placed. The icon next to the File URL copies the link.

Delete

Deleting is permanent. The file disappears from storage and cannot be recovered.

Images marked Used

If an image is still used in the shop, a product or a card, it is marked Used and Pixalo warns before deleting. If you delete it anyway, the image is missing there. Replace it first.

Where the library also appears

Wherever you choose an image, the same window opens with your media and an Upload tab:

  • Logo and favicon in the settings.
  • Product images and package images.
  • Backgrounds and images in the shop designer.
  • Images in your own templates in the card designer.

Storage

Media count towards your plan's storage, just like the photos from your jobs. You see the level at the top of the dashboard and under Subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload picture day photos here?

No. Upload picture day photos in the job so Pixalo can match them to the children. See Upload photos.

Which format is best for the logo?

PNG with a transparent background, at least 500 pixels wide. Then it looks clean on light and dark areas.

Can I rename a file?

No. Give the file a sensible name before uploading, then you find it quickly via search.
