QR Matching & Review

After the upload Pixalo recognises the card photos and splits the shots into sections. Each section belongs to a child or a group. In the review you check the result and assign leftovers with two clicks.

How matching works

No timestamp, no app, no face recognition. Just the order and the cards.

A card photo opens a section. All following photos belong to it until the next card photo.

Photos before the first card photo land under Unassigned.

The group card opens a group section. All children of the group see these photos.

Card photos themselves never appear in a gallery. They stay in the dashboard only.

What you assign by hand stays that way. No later upload overwrites a manual assignment.

The matching view

Reachable via “Matching” in the job header, flow step 5 or “To review” after the upload.

  1. 1Status: matched photos, card photos, processing, unknown cards, unassigned. Green when nothing is open.
  2. 2Unsorted photos: the workspace. Opens with the first open shot. Everything happens here.
  3. 3Review with overview: the whole photo day as a colour bar, cards as ticks, unsorted in red. Clicking jumps there.
  4. 4Assignments: sections per group, collapsible. Name, photo count, preview.

Live during processing

While photos are processing, the view refreshes every five seconds by itself.

Large jobs

The overview stays the same width at 1000 shots. Previews load only for the film strip around the chosen shot. Groups with many sections are collapsed.

Assign photos

Click photos, choose the target below, assign. This is how you fix everything the system was not sure about.

Tick a shot in the film strip. Multiple selection possible. The arrow on a frame moves a wrongly assigned shot straight to unsorted.

Choose the target below: a child or the group photo of a group.

Click “Assign”. The photo moves to the right gallery immediately.

Sorted wrongly? Select and “Move to unassigned”. It waits there safely.

Review: check and assign the shot

The workspace opens with the first open shot. You see the photo large, the card before and after in the film strip, and assign below.

Film strip

Five shots before and after the photo, cards included. The tick on a frame adds it to the selection. You see immediately whether the boundary between two children slipped.

Keyboard

Arrow right and left switch to the next open shot. The tick on a frame selects it, Assign below. A hundred photos in a few minutes.

Open cases

Three situations you may see in the review.

Unassigned

Photos with no card before them. Invisible to parents and deleted automatically after 30 days. Assign them before, or delete deliberately with “Clean up”.

Unknown card

A card was read but does not belong to this job. For example a card from last year. The photos after it stay unassigned until you assign them.

Two cards in the frame

If a second card was in the frame, the system chose the larger one and marked the card photo. Check briefly that the section belongs to the right child.

Clean up

Clean up

“Clean up” permanently deletes all unassigned photos and all card photos. Matched photos stay untouched. Useful when the review is finished and storage should be freed.

All assigned. Publish the gallery.

Back to the job, set the status to Active and send the access codes to the parents.
