Discount Codes

Discount codes lower the price in the cart. Percentage or fixed amount, time-limited, per event or for all. The strongest use: the code is printed on the QR card the parents hold in their hands.

1

The overview

Under Discount codes you see all codes with discount, event, validity and status.

Discount code list with new discount code, search and table
  1. 1New discount code opens the form.
  2. 2Search by code or description, next to it the event filter.
  3. 3Table with status. Activate and deactivate right in the row.

Status

Active: running. Scheduled: start date in the future. Expired: end date passed. Exhausted: usage limit reached. Inactive: paused by hand.

2

Create a discount code

Three sections: basic information, validity & limits, settings.

Discount code form with basic information, validity and settings
  1. 1Code, type and value. “Generate” creates a unique 5-character code.
  2. 2Valid from and until.
  3. 3Event restriction, minimum order value, usage limit, customer restriction.

Code

Freely chosen like EARLY10 or generated. Generated codes avoid confusable characters like 0 and O. Case does not matter.

Discount type and value

Percentage, e.g. 10%. Or fixed amount, e.g. 5 €. The discount applies to the goods value, not to shipping or sitting fee.

Validity

Valid from, optionally valid until. Without end date the code runs until you deactivate it.

Event restriction

All events or exactly one photo job. Only codes of an event can be printed on its QR cards.

Minimum order value

The code applies only from this goods value. Good against discounts on single prints.

Usage limit

Maximum number of redemptions in total. Empty means unlimited. The list shows the counter.

Customer restriction

Bind the code to one customer, searched by name or email. For goodwill or replacements.

3

Print the code on QR cards

On the event detail page, in the Discount codes section, choose the code that goes onto the access cards. Exactly one per event.

Section Discount codes for this event with selected code
1
Create a code with event restriction to this photo job.
2
On the event detail page click the code in the Discount codes section.
3
Print access cards. Standard and own templates show code and discount, e.g. EARLY10 -10%.

No selection, no code

If no code is chosen, the section warns and the cards are printed without a discount field. The card designer offers the placeholders discount code and discount for own layouts.

4

Reminder before expiry

If the chosen code has an end date, Pixalo can remind parents shortly before. The switch “Voucher expires” sits in the event's Duration dialog next to the other reminders.

Requirement

Reminders go only to parents who received their access codes by email and have not ordered yet. Days before expiry freely selectable, default 3.

Proven strategies

1

Early bird: 10% for 14 days after gallery delivery. Print on the card, reminder 3 days before expiry.

2

Minimum order value: discount only from 30 € so packages are ordered instead of single prints.

3

Latecomers: a new code with end date shortly before gallery close, sent via the closing-soon reminder.
